On this page you can find dogs which have been reported to us as missing as well as dogs we have found and which probably have an owner.

We find a lot of male dogs who have escaped and are looking for a bitch on heat - apparently they can smell them up to ten kilometres away - and then can't find their way home. We want to stress the importance of having your dog chipped, so we can trace the address - all the dogs we find are always checked for a chip by a vet. At the very least you should write your mobile phone number on the dog's collar with a permanent marker or attach an address tag.

If you recognise any of the dogs below please contact us on 26610 32111 (Greek) or 69797 98202 ( English, French, Dutch and German).

January 2010 - Puppy Found

This female puppy was found some time ago. Although no owner has been identified so far, perhaps someone will recognize her. We are now also looking for a good home for her. She is about three months old, healthy and playful - as a puppy should be. She is good with people, children, dogs and cats. Can anyone give her a good future? If you are interested, you can phone us on 6979798202.

October 2009 - Lost Dog

This two-year old male dog (called Kain) went missing in Potamos on 9 October. His family are very worried about him and hope that someone will find him. They are offering a reward for his safe return. He is friendly, so if you see him take him home and phone 6979798202 or 26610 80308.

October 2009 - Lost Dog

This male dog (called Rex) is about 40 cm tall and weighs around 8 kilos. He went missing in Agia Deka on 6 October. He has a white collar around his neck and a red band around his waist. If you find him please take him home and phone 6979798202 or 26610 8030. There is a 300 euros reward on offer!

October 2009 - Lost Cat

This cat, Tsitso, went to the vet for neutering. When the owner came to fetch it on 3 October, he was told that the cat had escaped and was missing! Its Greek owners are very worried and have been looking all over the place. The cat disappeared in the Three Bridges area between the traffic lights on the main road and Lidl supermarket. As the owners live in the south of the island the cat might well be on his way home, some cats walk long distances and find their way back. Let's hope that this will also happen in this case. If you see him, please catch him and phone his owners, who are offering a reward of 100 euros.

August 2009 - Dog Found

Does anyone know the owner of this friendly dog? If so please phone 6979798202.

Update: This dog has now been reunited with its owner. Anastasia, who found the dog, has told us that the owner lives in the neighbourhood where the dog was found and that some people recognised it. Hopefully his owner will now put some identification on his collar and have him chipped. As this dog is on medication it is even more important that he is back home again. A happy ending, well done Anastasia.

June 2009 - Dog Found

Does anyone recognise this big but very gentle dog. We hope to find the dog's owner, but if not we would like to find a nice family who can give this dog a happy and safe future. Phone 26610 32111 (Greek) or 6979798202.

June 2009 - Dog and Owner Reunited

Rudi, one of the four dogs recently found in the road, is back with his owner. We had put posters around the area where he was found and in Corfu town where Sotiris saw his dog, which had been missing for two months. When he came to see whether it really was his dog, it was obvious as the dog reacted immediately on hearing his name called. How he came to be found 30 kilometres from where he had gone missing we do not know. Now Rudi is going to have a good collar with a mobile phone on it. Sotiris has realised how important it is to be able to identify the dog. (A chip is also a useful aid in identifying any dogs we find.) So a happy ending for Sotiris and Rudi - and a new member for The Ark!

June 2009 - Missing Dog

This friendly female dog (the black one) has been missing for a few weeks now and his owners would very much like to hear from anyone who has seen her. Please phone 6947375992 if you have any news. A reward will be given.

June 2009 - Dogs Found

Male dogs can smell a bitch on heat from as far away as 10 kilometres. This is one of the reasons that they run away from home and then often get lost. It is so important to have at least your mobile phone number on your dog's collar - either as a tag or simply written on the collar with a permanent marker. Within just a few days all these dogs were reported to us in different areas - wandering around or running on busy roads and nearly causing accidents. All of them were checked by the vet but none of them had a chip. Does anyone recognise them, or know their owners? If so please give us a call on 6979798202.

April 2009 - Small Dog Missing

This dog has been missing for a few weeks now and his owners would very much like to hear from anyone who has seen him.

March 2009 - Dog and Owner Reunited

Good news about Lera, the lost Canadian Shepherd dog. Her owner Yiannis came to collect her after having seen one of the posters which we had put around town. He phoned and of course we checked that he really was her owner. He promised to chip the dog and also to put his moble phone number on her collar so she can be identified in case she ever manages to break her lead again.

March 2009 - Dog Found

Does anyone know the owner of this sweet Canadian Shepherd? If so please phone 6979798202.

March 2009 - Missing Dog

This friendly young dog has been missing since end of February. His owner is missing him very much. If anyone has seen him please contact us on 6979798202.

If anyone knows this dog's owner please call 26610 32111.

January 2009 - Happy Ending

The missing Boxer (below) came back by himself after being away for nearly a week. He was rather thin and injured on his front leg, so the vet had some work to do but hopefully he will be fine. His owners had quite a few phone calls about sightings of Boxers and now Danielle will make sure that her dog has a collar with her mobile phone number on it as well as a tag. He was chipped but the owner's new address had not been sent in, so that will be done as well. Let's hope he doesn't "escape" again, but if he does at least he can be identified.

January 2009 - Missing Dog. Reward given if found!

This Boxer is missing. He is brown with white chest and feet with black spots. He is friendly and approachable so if you see him please grab him and call Dave and Danielle on 6947743468, 6942528555 or 6943534654.
